My Back! My Thigh! WHY LORD WHY?!

As you can guess by the title, I tried a Boot Camp fitness class yesterday.
Man, I was so hype about it .. I was thinking "THIS is exactly what I need to get back to being motivated towards the goal for my 30th Birthday"

So! I got prepared for a work out.. Under Armour on deck! Some leggings and the most comfortable pair of Nike's I have ever owned. I was excited... can't you tell by my face! and this is after work! LOL

Then I get in the car.. and this happens.
Dark clouds roll in and drizzle starts coming from the sky!

I yell out (real talk) "The devil is a liar!"
The one day that I am motivated to go to boot camp and it wants to start raining, knowing good and well that I just got my hair done two days ago!

So I broke out into spontaneous prayer, binding all kinds of rain storms...

Well, it must've worked because that dark cloud rolled out so fast. It never even rained over on the track where we were working out. The sun came back out.. we even saw double rainbows and we kept working out for an hour and half...

However...
THIS is how I feel today at work!

My back hurts, my thighs hurt... I can't walk up and down the steps and I felt like the toilet was so low this morning, I cried because I didn't think I was going to make it without busting my tail!

I should've known I was going to be in pain since the last fitness class I was in was two years ago right before my Wedding..
It hurts so good!

I think by the time I get off today, I will be ready to take it easy and walk a few miles.. lets hope the rain clouds come hold back.

Sometimes and Always

Sometimes: my offenders complain that I am not encouraging enough.
Always: I think to myself "if they only knew that I am actually very encouraging" especially when it comes to my young people at church ... and then say something really smart out my mouth like "well sir, cocaine use may help uplift you but I don't see anything encouraging in being a crack-head, but keep up the good work."

Sometimes: People think that I am very outspoken and a social butterfly and will even describe me as agressive
Always: I believe that I am actually a shy individual hiding behind that outspoken character I have created.

Sometimes: I talk about how healthy I want to be.
Always: When it comes to good food, I can not say no. See the example below from this weekend...

Sometimes: I pile up food like this.. Yes, this is my plate filled with Roast, Cabbage, Chicken Parmesean AND Eggplant Parmesean, Mac and Cheese and Greens.. there was a side of Corn Bread with Corn in it and Coconut Creme Pie that I couldn't fit on this particular plate.
Always: I feel a smidgen of guilt and quickly get over it.

Sometimes: I get voicemails from the Doctor's office reminding me that my appointment is at 1:15pm and that I should arrive 30 mins before the scheduled visit for paperwork.

Always: It's just my luck that I arrive on time and I encounter random signs like this ... had I known you were at lunch and I would be waiting in the hall for the next 30 mins, I would've just come on time or late like I usually do.

Sometimes: I can't find a thing to watch on T.V.
Always: I scour looking for things to watch and ways to make it fun.

Sometimes: I wait until my stomach is growling super loudly saying FEED ME before I go to lunch.
Always: I regret it because I get such a large meal to curb my severe hunger.

Monday's Musings

Today's Monday Musings are coming to you a little late because of errand running and appointments pertaining to this:

The story of this 29 year old...
starting a family on purpose is so much harder than television makes you think. Thats another blog post for another day, perhaps another month..

Anyways, I will fill you in later but nonetheless ... here are my musings from the weekend.

In the D.M.V. area,  we survived ten tornadoes.. no joke.
This one was in northern VA and a few more hit some counties in Maryland. Quite frightening that all these natural disasters are hitting this area -- Earthquakes and Tornadoes are not things that we are used to. So needless to say, we cancelled our usual date night.

The storms only lasted a night because the next day was simply gorgeous.
We decided to make it a day of quality time.
We got The Roadrunner and Dark Knight detailed... I love this car wash. You pay monthly and you go as much as you want throughout the month and you leave with a car that is clean inside and out.

Where I live there are a lot of trucks that pass through, which means there is a lot of debris that ends up in the road. I had a huge scuff on the bumper of my new baby and this nice young man got every trace out of my bumper. My LIFE saver.

Hubby and I decided that Date Night should be spent at one of our favorite spots!
So I introduce to you Talara. Its a great Spanish themed tapas bar that also have a few full plate entrees.

This is what they call the Ahi Ceviche that is served on a Nori Roll with Ahi Tuna and caviar and wasabi sauce. It is great!

The special of the evening was a Rockfish served over sticky rice patty with a side of plantains.

IT WAS SO YUMMY!!!!!

Pair this day with seeing Snow White and the Huntsman and I was a happy lady! (although I can honestly say that as much as we see movies, Snow White was the worst one we have seen this year, perhaps in a really long time. It just seems like they ran out of ideas of how to end it once they removed everything remotely noticeable of the original story.) I guess we should've seen Mirror, Mirror... oh well there is always DVD.

Its officially Summer and with that, I always lighten my hair in some way with the change of the seasons. And so without further a do, here is my new look! It's sign, sealed and hubby approved!

One last thing... Each Sunday, as we lift our offerings in prayer, we pray for surprise checks in the mail. Its something that we prayed for the last 12 years and once again (oh because it has happened before) as I was writing this post for you.. UPS rang and dropped on the door step a check for $500. I'm just saying.. PRAYER WORKS! You can try other things but I am just gonna keep sharing what I know!

Now if the stork would drop something on the door step... LOL

Ok thought that was the last thing, but here it is forreal... my husband has definitely fallen in love with this song because I kept singing around the house. I didn't realize how bad he loves this song until every time I got in his car this weekend he had it playing... loudly. At first I thought it was the radio and then I realized that he has purchased the single and has fallen in love with this song just like every other young adult and teen female. I tease him profusely...

He has one up on me though because I saw an alert pop up on his phone and it said it was from "Sarah Jessica Parker".. I snapped so quickly at him and began to interrogate him as to who is Sarah and why she is texting him! because clearly in my mind he had some chick's number saved in his phone under a pseudonym... he says "umm babe, she's the actress and this is an email and it came from the Obama campaign because she is doing an event with him." Talk about feeling a bit stupid. LOL Obama was about to have him sleeping on the couch .. ahahaha. Ok I am done now, so enjoy!

I'ma Ear Hustlin' Part 2

Before we go any further.. I just want to say that Tiffany is featuring me today as one of her June Sponsors so go and check her out here.

Blabbering Thoughts

And now...

This is Ear Hustlin' Part 2.. Random conversations that I come across from time to time..
you can read Part 1 here.

#1: Lady in the waiting room with her son who is on Probation:

Mother: "I remember when I was down at the courthouse with you.. and I was really tired and I had you on my lap and you were eating popcorn and cupcakes... and there was a camera up there like that [points to the camera in front of my office door] and you fell! and they came running around there saying I dropped you because you had the food all over you..

Son: "mmhmm"

Mother: "I told them, I didn't drop you. I wasn't sleep!"

Son: "how did I fall then?"

[silence]

#2 My coworker describing how she hurt her hand:

Coworker: "I woke up over the weekend and it was stiff. I couldn't move it or anything. I thought that it would be better by at least wednesday but when it wasn't I went to the doctor because I thought it was a sign of stroke"

...." they gave me a sonogram, a mammogram.. they did everything on my hand!"

Me: "LOL Really?! a Mammogram!?"

Coworker: "yup! then told me it was a sprain and wrapped it up. So now I am walking around with this on my hand"

[Mind you when I asked her what happened yesterday in front of other people, she said it was because she was doing a certain sex act for too long! LOL! HA! This woman is in her 60's!!!!! YIKES!]

and OH.. THIS ONE takes the cake for me!
Part of my job: to listen to lies all day--

Called Offender at his job -
Me: Why can't you manage to call me back!
Him: I don't have a phone. I am so sorry, when do you want me to come and see you?"
Me: "You need to get here NOW!"
Him: "I am so sorry, I really didn't have a phone, but I get paid today and I am going to get a new one so that I can call you back from now on."

10 mins later

Me: "Hello"
Him: "Oh I am sorry, I saw this number on my phone and I was calling it back"
Me: "It's your officer .. and apparently you have a phone!"
Him: "So what time am I supposed to come see you?"...

Me: Really?!

Friday's Letters

Dear Friday, here you are once again.. but this time.. a lot faster then I expected. Hey, that's fine by me- lets have a repeat performance next week ok?

Dear Tiffany at Blabbering Thoughts, Thanks for allowing me to be a sponsor for this month! Please don't think that I am a complete half-wit. Sometimes I panic and send quick emails and then realize I shoud've said more.

Dear Hubby, as usual you get a letter... and not because hey I am married to you so daily expressions of love should be the key, but nope every day you do something that either makes me laugh or makes me wonder, how did I marry such a funny guy! you are so random and yet so sweet. You get me... and even when you said hey "Quit it with the wigs- lets see natural hair or weaves only." that's when I KNEW that you really GET ME! Scheduling my hair appointment TODAY! HA!
Sidenote: I remember back when wearing weaves was a secret and we would spend all day trying to avoid the wind.. now its like, you pass your friend on the street and you say "girl, your extensions look great!" high five each other, flip your hair and keep it moving. Oh wait.. that's just me?!

Dear CineBistro in Richmond, I am going to see you soon... you are on my list. And despite the fact that you are several hours away from my house, I feel like that whole experience is worth it to this movie going girl.

Dear AMC Theaters, Tonight we have decided that Snow White and the Huntsman will be our movie of the week. But please know we are not ashamed to be excited to go see the new Pixar film, Brave either.. so we will be back.

Dear Men in Black 3, no one was sure as to why after 10 years you were coming out. I mean really.. it was random. But once we saw you I can say that you had a really good story line and the ending definitely brought it all home. I mean that ending was a GREAT way to end that story! Kudos!

Dear Mary Mary Reality Show, Great Season Finale! I can't wait until Season 2. Consider yourself in the regular rotation of shows to watch.

Dear Readers, now that I have dedicated practically every letter to a show or a movie, please click the home page and know that I talk about so much more.. keep reading.

Dear Tummy, its Pinkberry time! Let's get excited!!!
